SEED COLLECTING WORKSHOP

Seed Harvest (5).jpg

We’re excited to announce that the Blanco County Conservation Initiative is joining the Blanco Library’s effort to preserve native plants and support biodiversity across our ecoregion! Take a walk through the Paradise Creek Pocket Meadow with us on Sunday, August 9, at 9 AM to learn about native plant identification, ethical seed collection, and how to prepare seeds for sharing. Craig Bruska from the Native Plant Society of Texas will lead the workshop. BCCI is bringing some local seed to help stock Blanco County’s first free, community-organized seed library!

BCCI BEST PRACTICES ART CONTEST

Coming soon...

Blanco County is changing fast. This year's contest is a chance to document the people, places, traditions, and stories that make this county what it is. In partnership with the Blanco County Historic Commission and Twin Sisters Dance Hall, the 2026 theme will center around local history and culture, and artists’ work will be featured at the Raise the Roof fundraiser on September 25 and 26. The official theme, grand prize, and other details are still in the works, so keep an eye out for more details coming soon!
