2026 BCCI + Twin Sisters Dance Hall Art Contest: Highway to History

 

This year’s art contest invites artists to explore the history, stories, and community surrounding Twin Sisters Dance Hall along Highway 281.

 

THEME REQUIREMENT

 

All artwork must:

 

● Relate to the theme Highway to History

● Include recognizable imagery of Twin Sisters Dance Hall itself

● Connect in some way to the dance hall, Highway 281, its history, or the people and places associated with it

 

Artwork may depict real or imagined people, places, events, memories, or moments.

 

ELIGIBILITY & ENTRY

 

Artwork must be original and created by the entrant.

● Each artist may submit one piece of artwork.

● A completed Entry Form and Agreement must be attached to the back of the artwork.

AWARDS & PROMOTION

Awards will be offered in Adult, High School, Middle School, and Elementary School age categories. Additional awards may also be offered by this year’s sponsors.

 

Artwork may be photographed and reproduced for contest-related publicity, promotion, and educational purposes. Winning artwork may be featured on promotional materials, postcards, posters, labels, merchandise, or other materials connected to the contest and its sponsors.

 

SUBMISSION

 

Submit original artwork with the completed Entry Form and Agreement securely attached to the back.

Submit entries by Thursday, September 24, 2026
Twin Sisters Dancehall will be accepting entries 10 AM - 6 PM Thursday, September 24th​

Additional drop-off locations to be announced

This contest is a community project of the

Blanco County Conservation Initiative (BCCI)

in partnership with the Twin Sisters Dancehall Fundraising Group.
