BCCI Needs Some Clerical Help

Just like any organization, we have office clerical duties to take care of.  We do not have an office so all of the clerical duties are done at home by volunteers with a personal computer, an internet connection and a printer.  Maybe 2-3 hours of volunteer time per week.  If you would like to volunteer by doing some clerical work like sending letters and entering data, please contact bob@bccitx.org.

 

Paradise Creek Pocket Meadow

Volunteer for the Paradise Creek Pocket Meadow - a boot-on-the-ground collaboration between BCCI, the Blanco Library, Keep Blanco Beautiful, Drought Proof Texas, and the Blanco Valley Wildlife Management Association. The work in this nature park will help bring conservation education to the public through ongoing projects, including:

• Construction and maintenance of "The Back Porch", a wildscape viewing structure built to feel like home

• Trail building

• Tree planting

• Invasive species removal

• Seed/transplant planting (preferably just after invasives removal)

• Erosion control

• Production of educational materials (signs, guides/pamphlets, etc.)

• Educational workshops (like plant/bird/bug ID walks, seed harvesting, cedar management)

• Research (bats, birds, deer, invasive species control methods, soil improvement, biodiversity, etc.)
